Alex Stried, Chief Product Officer of Cerebral

“Happy Monday!” she exclaims cheerfully, with zero hint of irony. Compared to the exhaustion of a weekend with young kids, the work week is a welcome respite for Alex Streid, Chief Product Officer of Cerebral. Alex says she is a mom first, but it’s clear that her thoughtfulness shines through to her work. At WeightWatchers, Ellevest, and now Cerebral, Alex works to help people reach their goals — whether it is eating well, investing, or taking care of their mental health. In this interview, Alex shares how she has used behavioral design to help her users, one step at a time, and she’s very clear that there are no quick fixes on the road to get there.

Tell me something I don’t know. (Anything!)

My oldest daughter is turning 6, and she is so excited. However, I think I may be even more excited! I love watching her live her life. I love how she smiles at the thought of being one year older. She is helping me plan her party, and every detail matters (she may be a product manager when she’s older). She is so thoughtful about her choices, and I am proud of the amazing little human she’s becoming.

Which fiction book would you recommend to product leaders? Why?
